"I was absent yesterday. Did I miss anything?" sound familiar?
I love this question. Do they really think that we did nothing for the day because they were out??
At the beginning of the period I just don't have the time to get the kids the work they missed. But I also don't want them to be behind.

In order to make this run smoothly, I use missed work folders.
Missed work folders. Each course that I teach has their own set of Monday-Friday folders. |
Inside each folder is work from the current week and the previous week. |
I love this for so many reasons.
- When the kids come back from being absent, they don't even need to see me. They can get all the work they missed as soon as they come in and later I can help them to set everything up.
- It helps to keep me organized. At the end of each day, I take any extra handouts and just toss them in the folder. Each Monday, I take everything from the right side and move it to the left side. No more lost extra copies or clutter.
- I can keep two weeks worth of work organized for all of my classes.
- I love these trays. They are from Target and were like $1 each.
- The folders are pretty colors. I automatically like things better that are colorful. :)
I love this! I tried to incorporate something like this last year but I never really kept it up. I love the idea of using the folders and having 2 weeks worth of work in them. Did you print the days of the week onto the folders?
