Vistaprint

Last summer I found ideas to use Vistaprint in the classroom.  I'm sure most people know about Vistaprint already, but they offer free printing on tons of stuff and all you pay is a couple dollars for shipping (go check it out, there's so much.)

This is just one of the things I ordered and got a ton of use out of.

I've always given homework passes as a prize very sparingly (an individual kid might end up winning like one or two all year).  I also give them the option to redeem the HW pass for 5 bonus points on a test or quiz of their choosing.  Since the teacher store doesn't sell HW passes with all that info on them, I had these printed up with the exact information I wanted on them.  They're easy to fill out and on the back I just jot down what they won it for. (Ex. percent bingo or something like that)

An added bonus was the box they came in is great to store them in!

  1. Sarah, I love your blog! The top pictures are super cute! Did you make it yourself? I've never used Vista Print but I know a coworker that does. I'm thinking about using it to make cards to give out at open house night. Any advice on Vista? Love your cards!

    1. Aw thank you so much!! Thanks for reading! I did make the banner myself, I'm so glad you like it :)

Definitely go for it with Vistaprint, it's fantastic. Hmm, advice...well for one I would say order them right now because the shipping does take a long time (unless you want to pay more, but then that negates the whole cheap thing). Instead of the business cards they have postcards too that could be cool to hand out if you have more info. Also if you get on their mailing list they'll send you tons of promotions all the time where they offer you premium things for free (besides shipping).

You should also just google "vistaprint teacher ideas" and you'll find a million more amazing ideas for stuff to make :)

  3. I did magnets with them. I put on a multiplication chart. Ive also done the mailing stickers but put on it a cute image and it said books belong to me. And a cute message like, reading takes you everywhere.

  5. If they use the homework pass, do you exempt the grade or give them a 100? We have the option to exempt a grade in our gradebook, which means it doesn't count for them or against them. This is normally the option I use, but I was just curious how you do it.
